On the occasion of recent public comments made by politicians in the Republic of Macedonia, Agneza Rusi Popovska, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of North Macedonia to Bulgaria, was summoned to a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the spread of false statements regarding Bulgaria, the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. The ministry firmly objects to attempts for involving Bulgaria and bilateral relations in the internal political debate in the Republic of North Macedonia, including in the context of the current election campaign.

"Once again, we invite the political elite in North Macedonia to show the necessary political maturity," The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out and called for the implementation of the political commitments made within the framework of the 2022 compromise and for compliance with the 2017 agreement for good neighborliness.
