The Constitutional Court has agreed to hear appeals by President Rumen Radev and 48 opposition MPs challenging the amendments to the Basic Law.

After finding similarities in the subject matter of the two cases, the Constitutional Court joined them for joint consideration and decision.

Statements from all parties concerned will be collected and examined by three judges-rapporteurs. The full Court will then deliberate on the merits of the case. A decision on whether there is a contradiction between the provisions of the Sixth Amendment to the Basic Law is expected by the middle of the year at the earliest.
