Exceptional examples of Bulgarian musical culture were presented to the French audience. The performances of the Folk Choir of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv - "Prof. Asen Diamandiev", with conductor Prof. Kostadin Buradzhiev, provoked long standing ovations.

The two concerts in Paris, which took place a few days ago, were organized on the occasion of Bulgaria’s national holiday by two associations for Bulgarian-French cultural exchange - Art Gallery Constantin, led by Bulgarian doctors Dr. Konstantin Nikolov and his wife Dr. Elena Radeva -Nikolova, and Artavenir association, with director Yordanka Kostadinova.

The concert "Mysteries from distant times" in the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in the French capital presented fifteen works of church music by Bulgarian and Russian composers.

The second event, entitled "Songs of Orpheus", took place in the American Church in the city on the very National Holiday of Bulgaria - March 3. Folklore works by Bulgarian authors such as Ivan Valev, Krasimir Kyurkchiyski, Ivan Spasov and others were performed during this concert.
"I am extremely happy that we had the opportunity to show the French audience part of the choral works by Bulgarian authors, as well as my work as a long-time conductor of this choir," says Prof. Buradzhiev, leader and conductor of the oldest student’s national choir in Bulgaria. Recently, the Academic Folk Choir celebrated its 50th anniversary and now they have another reason to celebrate - 20 years under the leadership of Prof. Kostadin Buradzhiev, with whom they have won a number of awards in Bulgaria and around the world.

As a wonderful example of the mastery of the Academic Folk Choir, we offer you one of the latest studio recordings of the ensemble under the direction of Kostadin Buradzhiev - the folk song "Zamraknala e Lalitsa" arranged by Kiril Stefanov, soloist - Yanitsa Stamenova.
