A protest under the slogan "Migrants out of Sofia" took place on Sunday evening in the Bulgarian capital. It started in front of the Ministry of the Interior building. Hundreds of mostly young people passed by the Council of Ministers, reported BGNES. Their demands are for strict control over the admission of migrants into the country and a ban on their free movement in the city.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev criticized the government for not being able to ensure the safety of Bulgarian citizens in the center of Sofia. "What can we imagine for the rest of the places in the country. And this makes people doubt all these stories that the migrant flow has been controlled, that we have effective protection of the Bulgarian border, that the return of unwanted migrants to Bulgaria will not have consequences on our security," emphasized Radev.
