Police will guard refugee accommodation centres, Parliament has decided

Photo: BTA

The Ministry of the Interior will guard the territorial units of the State Agency for Refugees, and not private companies as is the case now. This was decided by Parliament in the first reading of amendments to the law on the Ministry of the Interior proposed by GERB-SDS and MRF. Only the PP-DB voted against. The amendment was adopted in response to the increasing number of clashes between Bulgarians and foreigners. It is hoped that the involvement of the police will prevent future incidents.
