Funeral Mass for the late Patriarch of Bulgaria and liturgical procession

The funeral Mass for the Patriarch of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia Neophyte, who departed this life on 13 March, will begin today at 9:30am in the Patriarchal Cathedral of St Alexander Nevsky in Sofia. 

The Mass will be officiated by the Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav, Ioan, now Provisional Primate of the Holy Synod. 

At 11am the funeral service of the Patriarch Neophyte will begin, presided over by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. 

The mortal remains of the Patriarch will then be taken in procession from St Alexander Nevsky to St Nedelya Cathedral for burial.
