District Heating Sofia has proposed a 30% reduction in the price of hot water and central heating from July this year, in an application to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. The heating company is offering a price of 97.78 BGN/MWh (EUR 50), pointing out that this is the second year in a row that it is proposing a price reduction.

The proposal takes into account the decrease in the exchange prices of natural gas and carbon emissions, as well as the socio-economic dynamics in the country. It also takes into account the fact that the price of natural gas during this regulatory period has been lower than the price of heat set by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR).

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission's decision on the price of heating and hot water is expected by 30 June at the latest.
