Democratic Bulgaria co-chair Atanas Atanasov accused GERB/SDS, until recently their partners in the government, of launching a political attack against We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB).

“We are witnessing an organized and coordinated operation for discrediting the coalition We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria, using the unreformed prosecutor’s office and security services. They are being used by the same people who thwarted the rotation,” Atanas Atanasov said, and went back to the statement made by outgoing Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov who said that during the elections, the Interior Ministry headquarters should be headed by Interior Ministry Secretary General Zhivko Kotsev, who resigned today. In the words of Atanas Atanasov, it was PP/DB’s political partners from the outgoing government who did their best to oust this particular secretary general on the eve of the election.
