The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria has been working on the case with the fire in the German city of Solingen on March 25, 2024, in which four Bulgarian citizens of Turkish origin died and three others were injured, since the initial information about the incident was received. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to a comment by the leader of DPS, Delyan Peevski, about "the Bulgarian state's indifference to the tragedy".

The Bulgarian authorities are in constant contact with the German colleagues with the aim of clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is suspected to be an arson. The investigating prosecutor in the case, Heribert Kaune-Gebhard said that so far the police have not found evidence of a xenophobic motive behind the suspected arson, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The Bulgarian embassy is monitoring the condition of the other victims - a young family with one child. It is expected that next week the three victims will be allowed to be visited by the Bulgarian consul in order to provide the necessary assistance and support.
