Photo: BTA

On the occasion of the approaching holidays in early May, among which is the Orthodox Easter, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency will inspect for a month the establishments for production and trade with traditionally offered foods. This includes lamb meat, the traditional kozunak pastries, eggs and egg dyes, fresh vegetables.

For lamb carcasses, the presence of a health mark indicating its origin will be monitored.

The storage, labelling and marking of eggs will also be monitored.

In order to reinforce monitoring, samples will be taken from each consignment of eggs entering through borders from third countries as well as from EU countries, BABH said.
