Beekeepers are giving up beekeeping over inadequate support

Bee mortality this winter was no more than 2-3% thanks to the good weather conditions. Nevertheless, the problems beekeeping is facing is leading to many beekeepers giving up the beekeeping industry, the BNR's correspondent in Dobrich Maya Shtarbanova reported. The conditions for applying for support in beekeeping are so complicated that fewer and fewer people working in the sector are able to take advantage of them.

Data show that a quarter of small-sized bee farms have disappeared in 2023, and even multi-generational beekeepers are giving up. Bee Dobrich Association believes that the number of beekeepers will continue to decline if the import of cheaper honey and honey-like products is not stopped.
