Seventh-grader Kaloyan Geshev from the 125th High School "Boyan Penev" in Sofia became a three-time champion in mental calculation. He won first place at the Mental Calculation Olympiad, which was held online. Kaloyan scored 243 points and thus managed to outperform the competition, represented by Ayryan Shukla (233 points) and Vandal Nyati (166 points) from India, reported the Ministry of Education and Science. 90 contestants of different ages took part at the competition.
In 2022, Kaloyan Geshev also won the gold medal and the world title at the Junior World Mental Calculation Championship in Speed Mathematics in Bielefeld, Germany.
