Bulgaria is ready to react if the situation in the Middle East escalates, the caretaker government says

In connection with the situation in the Middle East, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and the government are in constant coordination with the institutions concerned and the security services, and are monitoring the situation. The country is ready to evacuate the Bulgarian citizens. At this time there is no direct military danger, the Council of Ministers press service has announced. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry is monitoring, with heightened attention, the development of the situation after the news of Israeli strikes against targets in Iran. the Ministry is in direct contact with the Bulgarian diplomats in the region. Instructions have been issued regarding the safety of the embassy staff and the Bulgarian citizens in the region. We are maintaining operational contacts with the partner countries, and are ready to act depending on the development of the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.
