''We are making every effort to ensure that the new F-16 fighter aircraft are received at the Graf Ignatievo Air Base'', Bulgarian Air Force Commander, Major General Dimitar Petrov, said in an interview with BNR. He commented on the visit of General James Hecker, commander of the NATO Allied Air Command.

''He visited Graf Ignatievo Air Base, familiarized himself with the infrastructure and met with colleagues who are on duty in NATO's integrated air defense system. He definitely expressed satisfaction with what we are doing to receive the new aircraft and to prepare the personnel. The runway must meet the operational requirements. I was assured that it will be ready before the aircraft arrive. I don't think we will have to look for another airport to receive them", Major General Dimitar Petrov added.
