Orthodox Christians fill the churches in Bulgaria and abroad on Good Friday

Despite the rainy weather in various parts of Bulgaria, churches in the country are full of believers on Good Friday. In Sofia, many of them visited the Saint Nedelya Metropolitan Cathedral. The worship continues throughout the day. In the evening, the funeral service of Christ will be performed in the church, during which the death of the Savior will be mourned.
On the saddest day of the Holy Week, many lay people also flocked to churches in Plovdiv. Most Plovdiv residents pray for health and well-being, as well as for peace in the world, reports Janitsa Marova from BNR Plovdiv.

"I prayed for the entire Bulgarian people - to find their happiness and their path," one of the believers told Marova.

Bulgarians abroad also celebrate this day. From 7 p.m. this evening in the Bulgarian Orthodox Church "St. Rev. Ioan of Rila the Miracle Worker" a funerary service will be held in Athens. The temple was open throughout the day, writes BTA.

The special liturgy on Good Friday will gather believers this evening also in the Bulgarian Church in Midrand, South Africa, our compatriots there report on Facebook.
