Miracle of healing water brings thousands to Dambala mountain area near Momchilgrad

Thousands of people will gather tonight near the spring in the mountainous area of Dambala, just above Momchilgrad. They all believe that on this night the water flowing from the rocks will become healing and cure various diseases. The miracle takes place in the first minutes of 6 May, St George's Day for Christians and Hudurlez for Muslims.

At midnight, parents immerse their children in the spring water and everyone fills their vessels from the fountain built for the purpose or from the streams running down the rocks.

The municipality of Momchilgrad has already prepared the area for the expected large gathering, with the help of the state forestry service, police and fire brigade. People under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to enter the area of the spring.
