Rumen Radev: It will soon become clear whether North Macedonia will walk the path to Europe

“On Europe Day, let us wish for a European Union that will continue to build its unity based on the principles of democracy and peace,” President Rumen Radev said after laying flowers at the monument to the Unknown Soldier to mark the 79th anniversary of the end of World War II. The president and Vice President Iliana Iotova attended the ceremony of raising the flag of the EU in front of the presidency building. Rumen Radev called on the Bulgarian candidates for members of the European Parliament to make clear their position whether the principle of consensus in the EU’s decision-making process on foreign policy should be scrapped.

“It will soon become clear whether North Macedonia will want to walk the path to Europe, or whether it will take a different direction,” said Rumen Radev in a comment on the results of the elections in North Macedonia, and reiterated his support for the country’s European integration.
