Sofia municipality has started the cleaning of one of Sofia's emblematic modern buildings - the National Palace of Culture, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev announced on Facebook. He explained that the appearance of the characteristic Vratsa stone will be restored, on which layers of facade paint are periodically applied to erase spray scratches and pollution.

"In my conversations with people, they most often say that the graffiti on the buildings, the lack of lighting, the broken sidewalks and the potholes in the streets are what they expect to change in the city," says the mayor. In his words, Sofia does not deserve to look like a ghetto with scratched facades.

Vasil Terziev recalls the commitment made in the pre-election campaign to make Sofia a clean, orderly and green city. "While the main public conversation is an exchange of political accusations, caring for the city and keeping promises does not stop," he concludes.
