An exhibition dedicated to the bicentenary of the publication of the first primer in modern Bulgaria, known as the "Fish Primer", by the great scientist and educator Dr. Petar Beron, will be opened today in the garden in front of the capital's Ivan Vazov National Theater.

"Petar Beron took his place as one of the most educated Bulgarians of his time, who was the first to look at the new European education as a way for the rapid and successful development of the emerging new Bulgarian society", the organizers from the Central Library of the BAS say and point out that his care for the Bulgarian education can be seen even in the afterword of what is considered the first modern Bulgarian textbook.

The exhibition is part of the initiatives accompanying the celebration of the 155th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
