The money for raising the salaries of the academic staff and the employees at public universities was transferred to the accounts of the universities on Friday. Salaries will be raised in 33 public higher educational establishments. A meeting at the Ministry of Education and Science with representatives of the Council of Rectors and of the TUs on 21 May is to discuss how exactly the money will be distributed among the universities, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports. Nevertheless, on Monday, 20 May, many public and private universities will remain closed.
