BAS marks Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius

On the eve of May 24 - the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavic literature, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences organizes a solemn celebration with representatives of the academic cultural community. The event will take place on May 23, in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" hall, 1 "15th November" street, the press center of the scientific institution announced. 

Writer Georgi Gospodinov, corresponding member of BAS, will deliver a speech for the holiday. An interior version of the exhibition "Once and now. The glorification of the work of Cyril and Methodius in the modern world" of the Cyrilо-Methodian Research Centre at BAS will also be presented. The exhibition can be seen in the central foyer of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from 23 to 31 May 2024. The posters of the exhibition mark some of the places associated with the turning points in the work of the holy brothers and their students.
