Bulgarian President and the Pope call for an end to bloodshed in Gaza and Ukraine
A Bulgarian delegation led by President Rumen Radev is visiting the Vatican, where they were received in audience by His Holiness Pope Francis. The President and Pope Francis agreed that the greatest challenge facing humanity is to stop the deadly wars in Ukraine and Gaza. "I expressed a view, like his, that it is time for reason. It is high time to really rely on diplomacy, because we have seen that peace cannot be achieved by economic and military means alone," President Radev told journalists.
In his meeting with the President, Pope Francis wished the Bulgarian people health, peace, prosperity and more children. "He wished that we give our children a good education, but also that this education is supported by good upbringing, so that children grow up with respect and knowledge of our history, language, literature, traditions and culture," Pope Francis' words were conveyed by Rumen Radev.
