Rose Festival brings together in the Rose Valley guests from Bulgaria and abroad

Thousands of people took part in this year's procession, which closed the Rose Festival in Kazanlak, which this year was held for the 121st time

Numerous tourists from all over the world were among the guests who watched the ritual of picking rose blossoms and rose-growing in the gardens near the town, Radio BNR - Stara Zagora reported. 


"The fame of the rose and of Bulgarian rose production is spreading around the world. Our twinning with Vietnam this year also extends the borders very far," said Kazanlak Mayor Galina Stoyanova.

Currently, there are 2,947 farmers in the country growing Rosa Damascena and Rosa Alba who are registered in the register of producers under the Oil-yielding Rose Act. 


There are 51 rose blossom processing sites and their annual capacity is to process more than 15,000 tonnes of rose blossom, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
