Elections 2024

Elections in Bulgaria are over, but compatriots in the USA continue to vote

Nadia Ullman from Boston: Elections here are a wonderful opportunity to meet with friends

There are 55 polling stations where Bulgarians across the ocean can exercise their right to vote in the early parliamentary vote.

"We only vote for the National Assembly, i.e. for a party or coalition, we do not have the opportunity to vote for preferences or for the European Parliament," Nadia Ullman, from Boston, Massachusetts, has told Radio Bulgaria. At the time when Bulgaria announces the end of election day, the voting process is in full swing there.

"Everywhere in the state of Massachusetts, voting is done with paper ballots, except in Newton, where in the previous elections more than 300 citizens voted," Nadia Ullman, who is a member of a election commission in Boston says.

According to the data she sent to Radio Bulgaria at 12:00 local time, voter turnout was lower compared to the early parliamentary vote on April 2, 2023. A total of 231 people cast their votes in the four sections of the state of Massachusetts, while in the previous election there were 272 voters at that time.

"The elections here are another wonderful occasion to meet with friends and acquaintances before the summer vacations in Bulgaria and to cast our vote - everyone, according to their views on the future of Bulgaria," says Nadia Ullman in a video message from the Bulgarian Center of New England near Boston, Massachusetts.
