Bulgarian open water swimming star Petar Stoychev showed an outstanding performance and broke the record for the Triple Crown. The Bulgarian swam the final distance of 32.3 km. for 8h42m on Monday. He finished in the Triple Crown with a total time of 22h8m 46s, beating the previous best time by 2h29m. In addition to the English Channel and Catalina, Stoychev has already crossed the Strait of Gibraltar, Cook Strait and Molokai Channel. To complete the prestigious Oceans Seven marathon, the Bulgarian has to swim across the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland and the Tsugaru Strait in Japan.
