Lifeguards will be stationed at seven of the unguarded beaches in Varna Region, the regional administration's press service has announced. A contractor has been appointed to carry out the work. There will be three stationary lifeguard posts at the unguarded beaches "Bunite 2- East", "Bunite 2- West" and "Fichoza". In the municipality of Avren, near the mouth of the river Kamchia, there will be four fixed lifeguard stations, on the beaches "Romantica", "Kamchia - North 1", "Kamchia - North 2" and "Kamchia - North 3".

Each station will be manned by 2 lifeguards. The Regional Government specifies that the lifeguards at these beaches will be employed for a period of three months and that each of them will have successfully completed a course at the Bulgarian Red Cross and will have a valid lifeguard certificate.

The provision of medical services and portable toilets is not part of the lifesaving initiative.
