The renowned film and theater actress Jessica Lange, winner of two Oscar awards, has been building a career as an art photographer for nearly two decades. Her first exhibition in Bulgaria opened last night at the Palace, 1 Knyaz Alexander I Square, Sofia. The event is part of the Masters of Photography project. Her first-ever retrospective in Bulgaria includes nearly 120 black-and-white photographs revealing Jessica Lange's interests, captured by the lens of the camera. The opening was attended by Vice President Iliana Yotova, Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov, Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, ambassadors, artists, etc.
''I don’t really know how to talk about my photographs. They are very personal. So, I will just let you look at them. That’s the best way to see them without anything from me trying to explain. What I wanted to say is how lovely is to be here, how happy I am to get a chance to spend time here. I hope you enjoy the show'', said the author of the exhibition.
"Today I feel like a person witnessing the realization of yet another one of his dreams - Jessica Lange in Bulgaria!’’, said Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov. ''This gallery is the place that suits her because if you know her work the way I do, you will know that the place of a queen is in the royal palace'', said Nayden Todorov.
Jessica Lange's photographs will be exhibited in Bulgaria until September 29.
