Luki municipality has been working on the construction of a new eco-trail leading up to the emblematic peak Stanchov Kamuk, bgtourism.bg writes. The peak, which is 1,299 m. high, literally towers over the town of Luki.
Now, the steepest and most dangerous section of the trail to Stanchov Kamuk will have a safety metal rope installed, and markings and signposts, coordinated with the Bulgarian Tourist Union, will be put up along the trail which starts from the asphalt road near Manastir village. The idea is to make the region easier of access for less experienced hikers.
There is a cascade of waterfalls in the area – like Gyumbyurtiyata near Belitsa village and Sveti Duh (Holy Spirit) near Manastir village. The trails leading up to the beautiful waterfalls Halilkovsko Dere and Chavdar Dere are currently being renovated.
