Bulgaria will be the intersection point of two NATO logistics transport corridors. Under an agreement signed at the NATO Summit in Washington, Italy, Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria will cooperate within the Pan-European Transport Corridor No. 8.

Additionally, there will be an agreement between Greece, Bulgaria and Romania on military mobility and strengthening transport connectivity, which will be discussed in the autumn in Alexandroupolis. The largest NATO base in Europe will be in Romania, on the Black Sea. For its part, Bulgaria has the role of reinforcing NATO's eastern flank with railway links and the Black Sea motorway.
