Caretaker Premier Dimitar Glavchev and the Director of the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection, Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, are in constant communication regarding the wildfire situation in the country, reported the press center of the Council of Ministers. At this stage, the efforts of the firefighters are mainly concentrated in the regions of Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Kyustendil and Plovdiv.

The situation remains most critical near the village of Mustrak, Svilengrad Municipality, where strong winds are hampering the localization of the fire. Firefighters are still battling the fire that broke out in a pine forest near the village of Studena, Haskovo region. Military personnel are also involved in firefighting operations across various parts of the country.

Over the past day, fire safety and civil protection units responded to 250 emergency signals. A total of 204 fires have been extinguished.
