Hot weather with fire danger, critical situation in Svilengrad region

228 fires were extinguished in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours, the General Directorate of Fire Safety and Protection of the Population announced. There were 181 fires without material damage, of which 126 were in dry grass, forests and bushes, four in stubble fields and 45 in waste. No one died in the fires. 
The southern and southeastern parts of Bulgaria are the most seriously affected. In the municipality of Svilengrad, 10 thousand hectares are burning in the area of ​​7 villages, with the fire moving towards the border with Turkey. 

At the moment there are no places where evacuation is necessary. 

The fire between Aksakovo and the village of Slanchevo near Varna has been brought under control, and the highway to Varna is expected to be opened during the day. 

About 2 hectares have burned on Bulgarian territory in the region of Mount Ograzhden in Southwestern Bulgaria. The flames came from a fire in neighboring North Macedonia, but the fire has been contained. 

Military officers, firemen and volunteers continue to monitor the smoldering remains of the large fires near the town of Hisarya, the villages of Kaloyanovo, Ivan Vazovo and Mikhiltsi in central Bulgaria.
