Weather forecast for 17 July

Red heat alert has been issued for the entire country

Wednesday will be sunny and very hot, with some cumulus clouds in the afternoon. Lows will be between 19 and 27°C, 20°C in Sofia, and highs between 38 and 43°C, 38° in the capital. A red heat warning has been issued for the whole of the country.

Sunny weather is forecast for the Black Sea coast. Moderate north-easterly winds will blow. Air temperatures will reach 32-35°C. Sea temperatures will be 26-27°C. The sea swell will be 2-3. 

Over the mountains it will be sunny, with clouds in the afternoon, but precipitation is unlikely. Maximum temperatures will reach 33°C at 1,200 m and 25°C at 2,000 m.

Thursday will remain very hot. It will be cloudy in the afternoon, with rain and thunderstorms in northern and mountainous areas.
