On the fifth day of the wildfires raging in the country, politicians started arriving in the border municipality of Bolyarovo, where 7 villages have been affected by the fire.

One of the reasons why I am visiting is to express empathy with the people from the village of Voden affected by the big fire. “Bulgarians spend a lifetime building a home and losing that home is a real tragedy,” Rumen Radev said. “I call on all people to show empathy,” the president said in Bolyarovo municipality. He thanked the firefighters, the army staff, forest rangers, volunteers and the local authorities for preventing the loss of human life. “From now on it is important to continue to contain the fire, to extinguish all outbreaks. At the moment there is still time to act! There is a time for reports and for analyses, but it is the people who make the evaluation,” Rumen Radev added.
