The traditional festival takes place today in the locality Haydushka Polyana in the Tvurditsa portion of the Balkan Range. Visitors to the event will be offered a diverse folklore programme, competitions for children and adults and haydushki-style beans.
The festival has been in existence for over 40 years, though after 1989 it was suspended and was only revived a few years ago. The aim of the event is to promote tradition, enriched with elements from the history of the local rebels. The organizers also aim to meet with the descendants of people from Tvurditsa who emigrated to Moldova in the 1828-1830 period where they founded a village of the same name.
