MPs ratify contract to acquire ammunition for Stryker machines

The National Assembly has ratified an international contract for the acquisition of ammunition for Stryker machines, reports BTA. The contract from the US government, worth a total of $64,880,655 excluding VAT, was approved by 125 votes to 51 against.

The contract itself provides for the acquisition of ammunition of various types and calibre, and under its terms, the delivery of the ammunition is synchronised with the delivery of the Stryker machines. Deliveries will commence in the second quarter of 2025 and end in the third quarter of 2028.

This will contribute to the preparation and sustainment of capabilities for the participation in operations to guarantee national sovereignty and protect the territorial integrity of the country by the Land Forces.

The contract will also open up the possibility of technology transfer and the organisation of production of 30 mm ammunition on Bulgarian territory in the future.
