Women writers from 7 countries at creative camp in Chepelare in the Rhodope Mountains

Chepelare has become a creative haven for 10 women writers from Bulgaria, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Belgium, Great Britain and Serbia, BTA reports. The Rhodope town is hosting the second year of the Women in the Mountains writers' residency, which is organized by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation

At today's upcoming International Literary Reading at 19:00 on the Olympic square the ladies will present their works. The literary reading will be in Bulgarian and English, with translation for the Bulgarian audience.

This year's participants are Angela Jokic (Serbia), Denitsa Pencheva (Bulgaria), Emma Harrison (UK), Karina Lemes Borges (Spain), Maya Ulasik (Poland), Michaela Ilieva (Bulgaria), Petya Georgieva (Bulgaria), Suheila Amri (Belgium), Teodora Rapcheva (Bulgaria) and Yulia Chebakova (Ukraine).

The idea of the Women in the Mountains Writers' Residency is to provide a space and time for deep creative work, for professional and intercultural exchange between women who have chosen writing as their career.
