The delayed effect of the constitutional changes is one of the key factors for us, North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Mucunski told Sitel TV. He defended his government's position that Bulgarians should be listed as a minority in the constitution of North Macedonia only after the country's accession to the EU. According to Timco Mucunski, their request is met with understanding among the "interested parties in the EU".

"With maximum respect for the representatives of the caretaker government of our neighbor Bulgaria, it is a fact that at the moment of their functioning they cannot assume serious political responsibility, because they lack legitimacy from the citizens, and can only organize the holding of elections, after which we wish our neighbor to have a political government. After the formation of such a political government, we will engage in a proactive dialogue", said Mucunski.

"Our position is that the Negotiating Framework for North Macedonia's EU membership should not be changed", Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov told BGNES. "We do not consider that these proposals are the way things can happen. I have also said this during my participation in the EU Foreign Affairs Council - the framework cannot be renegotiated and the agreements must be implemented", emphasized Ivan Kondov.
