In 2023, farming products and food accounted for 47% of Bulgaria’s total exports to China. With regard to these exports in 2022 and 2023, Bulgaria occupies first place among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This transpired during a meeting between Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture Georgi Tahov and the Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Ms. Dai Qingli this week. The two countries are working actively towards completing the procedures for meeting the requirements for imports into China of a number of Bulgarian farming products and foodstuffs. Once they are completed, the volume and diversity of Bulgarian farming produce and foodstuffs exported to China can be increased – including of frozen and fresh fruit, wheat and saffron. “Bulgaria has high-quality farming products,” said Ambassador Dai Qingli, citing as an example Bulgarian rose oil and rose oil products, honey, sunflower oil and mineral waters.
