Trucks need to wait 30 hours to cross Danube Bridge towards Romania

Photo: BTA

The queue of trucks in the area of the Danube Bridge border crossing near Ruse is two kilometers long. The remaining heavy load trucks wait mainly in the buffer parking area. The stay time there is about 30 hours, BTA reported.

The movement of passenger cars in the direction of Romania is normal. Drivers wait between 5 and 10 minutes to cross the bridge. Car traffic is expected to increase in the afternoon.

On July 10, a major overhaul of the Bulgarian section of the 70-year-old facility began. For this reason, on part of the bridge, traffic is carried out only in one lane with a through mode and is regulated by a traffic light system.
