According to Hristijan Mickoski, the current commission has not lived up to expectations and “does not uphold the national interests of the Macedonian people”. “There is no political context. The Joint Multidisciplinary Commission on Historical and Educational Issues between Bulgaria and North Macedonia was set up as a result of the treaty of goodneighbourliness signed between the Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria on 1 August, 2017.
