Voter turnout in Bulgaria has been going down, Central Election Commission says

The majority of Bulgarians do not vote, indicate data of the Central Election Commission on voter turnout in the country in the past 3 years. For example, at the election on 4 April, 2021 voter turnout was 50.61%, while three months later, on 11 July it was 42.19%. The voter turnout at the election for president and vice president and for members of parliament that same year, 2021, was 40.23%. Almost a year later, on 2 October, 2022, the turnout was 39.41%, and in April 2023 the voter turnout during the election for parliament was 40.69%. A few months ago, during the two-in-one elections for European Parliament and the snap election for National Assembly of Bulgaria the voter turnout was 34.41%.
