A Commission, formed following the requirements of the National Service for Protection Act, will make an evaluation whether the honorary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Ahmed Dogan is under threat and needs to be protected by the National Service for Protection, caretaker Minister of Interior Atanas Ilkov told reporters.

Asked whether he had been alerted to there being a threat to the life of Ahmed Dogan, Minister Ilkov answered: “Yes, a report was filed regarding Mr. Dogan, it was addressed to the State Agency for National Security and to the National Service for Protection, after which we received it as well.” He stated further there was nothing specific in the report “where, how, under what circumstances and what this information of a threat contains, or who is making the threat.” The probe on the matter should be completed today, and the result reported to the prosecutor’s officer, Atanas Ilkov said further.

Earlier the Interior Ministry stated they had responded to reports coming from addresses in Boyana residential area and from Rosenets park coming from Movement for Rights and Freedoms activists who called 112 to say the life of the honorary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms was in danger.
