The autumn session of the National Assembly is expected to be busy. Before the first working day after the summer recess, the Parliament’s Deputy Speaker and GERB-SDS MP Rositsa Kirova told journalists that she hoped the upcoming elections would be the last. According to her, the vicious practice of holding early elections over the past three and a half years is not good for the country, its citizens and the participants in the political process, reported BTA.

Today's agenda includes the proposal of Vazrazhdane and There is Such a People party (ITN) for holding a national referendum titled: "Do you agree that the Bulgarian lev should remain the only official currency in Bulgaria until 2043?''. Among the hot topics for discussion is the equipment for the Belene Nuclear Power Plant and in particular ITN's draft decision to instruct the Minister of Energy to remove the steam generators from the Belene equipment, which is subject to negotiations for sale to Ukraine, until an analysis is prepared regarding their use for the needs of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant.

At the proposal of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, the parliament will hear caretaker Minister of Environment and Water Petar Dimitrov, caretaker Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov, caretaker Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov and caretaker Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Koritarova in connection with the water crisis in the country.
