The 19th national fair for preserving the local Bulgarian breeds of farm animals took place in the town of Kalofer.
The aim of the event is to popularize and preserve the traditional Bulgarian breeds which are key to preserving biodiversity and the cultural identity of the country. Local breeds were shown such as the grey Iskar cattle, Karakachan horse, Karakachan dog, Kalofer longhaired goat, and experts presented their characteristics. An animal parade took place allowing the attendees to see them close up. The event was organized by the indigenous sheep breeders organization in Bulgaria.
