President Rumen Radev calls for peace in Ukraine and Gaza

"Our world is facing a number of complex problems, from the unprecedented challenge to global peace and security to the escalating climate crisis and ongoing inequalities", President Rumen Radev said in his address to the UN General Assembly, reported BTA. Rumen Radev reaffirmed that Bulgaria strongly condemns the war in Ukraine, which "has led to hundreds of thousands of victims and enermous suffering". In his words, any diplomatic effort aimed at achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine in line with the United Nations Charter and international law, should be supported.

President Radev also called for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip. Rumen Radev emphasized that Bulgaria supports the European integration of the Western Balkans. "Our main priorities regarding the region are promoting good neighborly relations, improving connectivity, protecting human rights and combating ethnic discrimination", President Radev said.
