The Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of chief conductor Konstantin Ilievski opens its new season tonight.

In the "Bulgaria" Hall in Sofia, Georgi Andreev will perform his work "Land of Roses" for gadulka and symphony orchestra, which won the first prize of the "Symphonic Work in 7/8" competition.

Dmitry Yudin, who received the special award of the BNR at the "Geza Anda" competition in Zurich, will present Robert Schumann's piano concerto.

The program of the symphony orchestra also includes the Symphony No.1 by Johannes Brahms. The piece is among the top ten favorites of its genre, according to a poll among 151 conductors by BBC Music Magazine.
