At the launch of the election campaign for the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections on October 27, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev reported that the efforts of the executive power to eliminate distortion of the people's vote continue. The Ministry of the Interior has launched a specialized operation against vote-buying across the country, Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov announced.

The election campaign must be conducted in Bulgarian, according to the Central Election Commission. 19 parties and 9 coalitions will take part in the elections on October 27. By October 5, the CEC must determine the locations in the foreign countries where polling stations will be available, as well as their number.

The election campaign will end at midnight on October 25, as October 26 is a day of reflection.
