“Step Out of the Bubble” is the motto of Sofia DocuMental—the first international festival for creative non-fiction film with a focus on human rights. The festival will officially open today in Sofia and will continue until October 6.
The festival's program includes 30 premiere films for Bulgaria, winners of prestigious international awards. Discussions between directors and the audience, as well as other events, are also planned. Part of the program will be available online nationwide until the end of October this year.
''In a world dominated by indifference and division, Sofia DocuMental invites us to step beyond our comfort zone and expand our perception of reality'', said the organizers from the Balkan Documentary Center. The screenings will take place at key locations throughout Sofia such as the Sofia Largo, Cinema House, Odeon Cinema, Czech Center Sofia, Goethe Institut, the Polish Institute in Sofia, the French Institute in Bulgaria, Club DOM, as well as the newly opened stage of the Central Market Hall.
