The deadline for submitting advance applications to vote abroad for the upcoming early parliamentary elections on October 27 has expired. It is expected that about 720 polling stations will be opened outside Bulgaria, and the exact number will be clear after a decision of the Central Election Commission. Over 150 are expected to be the polling stations in which voting will be done by machines. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elena Shekerletova, at a meeting on the preparation of the elections, convened by Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
The Central Election Commission has already received the voting machines and the process of their authentication has started, the government press center announced.

In the previous early parliamentary elections - in June this year - the polling stations abroad were 769, the most of them in Turkey - 166, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 118, and Germany - 103.
