Prof. Zico Kolter, one of the world's leading AI scientists, to give lecture in Sofia

At the invitation of INSAIT, one of the world's leading artificial intelligence scientists, Prof. Zico Kolter, will visit Bulgaria, the Ministry of Education has announced. Prof Kolter is a board member of OpenAI, the AI research organisation behind ChatGPT, where he works closely with one of its founders, Sam Altman. He is also a member of the company's board of directors.

Prof. Zico Kolter is known for his groundbreaking work in safe and secure AI, a field in which he has received numerous prestigious awards. He is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University (USA) and the director of its Machine Learning Department, one of the world's leading institutions for AI research.

As part of an initiative by the Bulgarian institute INSAIT to connect world leaders with the Bulgarian student, technology and scientific communities, Prof Kolter will give a public lecture at Sofia University. The event is scheduled for 11 October at 18:30 in Hall 65 of the Rectorate building.

His talk will focus on the latest progress in improving the security of Large Language Models (LLMs), explore how these innovations increase the reliability of LLMs, and discuss future research directions in this critical area.
